Oscar & Hillary So, the nominations are out!
Who will win Oscar?
I was pleased to see the two leads from "Hotel Rwanda" nominated - Don Cheadle and Sophie Okonedo - but was annoyed at the exclusion of the film. It is without hesitation a MUST SEE FILM. The performances, the writing, the direction, and the production values are all exceptional.
I haven't honestly seen many of the award films - I've got a lot of movie viewing to tackle before I cast my SAG Awards vote - so I'll refrain from wider comment until I'm in a better position to evaluate.
Meanwhile, Hillary You Know Who contines to systematically position herself for the 2008 presidency. Check this out. She's softening her abortion stance, or her abortion rhetoric at the very least. She's angling for the "I support abortion but feel really bad about it" vote, throwing a bone to religious conservatives by acknowledging that faith and organized religion keep kids from having sex.
Not that her conversion is complete. Typical to Clinton fashion, she's talking out of both sides of her mouth: abortion and God talk out of the right side, Bush bashing out of the left.
Will the new Hillary rise, as the real Hillary slinks from plain sight?
